Decorative Concrete

Concrete surfaces can be colored using acetone or water based dyes. Since dyes are small colored particles that penetrate the concrete and fill it’s pores, it allows decorative concrete designs to be more precise and color consistent than acid staining.

Concrete surfaces can be acid stained to produce a rustic patina or wood look. The possibilities are endless!

Acid stain is a chemical stain used to color concrete. The stain is applied to the concrete surface with a sprayer or brush. Upon contact with the concrete surface, the acid stain begins a chemical reaction with the lime present in the concrete. Unlike paint, acid stain colors are produced by a chemical reaction in the concrete, resulting in a permanent coloring that will not chip or fade.
